The Sheraton Universal trades on genuine Hollywood history — it has been dubbed the Hotel of the Stars and has hosted more industry events and film-related stays than most hotels in the basin. That legacy shows up in the decor and the general polish of the place, which reads more sophisticated than the family-resort energy of some of its neighbors. It is best for couples and adults who want proximity to the park without a kids-club atmosphere.

It sits just down the hill from the Hilton, about a 10-minute walk to the main gate, with a shuttle running every 15 minutes if you would rather not do the incline. Universal CityWalk is a similarly short trip. The location advantage here is nearly identical to the Hilton — the difference is in atmosphere, not access.

The pool deck is genuinely nice — resort-style, well-maintained, and one of the better hangout spots among the Universal City hotels. Rooms are modern and comfortable without being flashy, and the lobby bar is a legitimate reason to stay in for a drink instead of heading to CityWalk. Breakfast is grab-and-go rather than a full sit-down spread, which is fine for early park mornings but will not impress if you are looking for a leisurely hotel breakfast.

Book the Sheraton if you want the Hilton location with a bit more style and do not need kid-specific amenities. It is priced close to the Hilton, so the decision mostly comes down to whether you prefer the historic-glamour angle or the bigger, more corporate feel next door. Families with young kids may find the Garland or the Hilton pool scene more built for them.
