Radiator Springs Racers
About this ride
The queue winds through a stunningly detailed recreation of Radiator Springs at dusk — neon signs, Cozy Cone Motel, Ramone's House of Body Art. Guests board six-person ride vehicles and travel through a dark ride sequence featuring Lightning McQueen, Ramone, and Luigi and Guido before being lined up side-by-side with a competing car for the race finale. The racing portion accelerates to around 40 mph through the Cadillac Range landscape — wind in your face, competing car alongside. The evening experience, when Cars Land neon lights up, is even more magical than the daytime ride.
Best time to ride
Buy Individual Lightning Lane immediately when the park opens — it sells out within the first hour on busy days. If you miss it, the single rider line is excellent and typically 20–40 minutes regardless of standby wait.
Insider tips
- The single rider line is the secret weapon for this ride — it moves fast and you still get the full racing experience.
- Ride it at night. Cars Land at night with all the neon glowing is one of the most beautiful environments in any theme park.
- The racing result (which car wins) is random — don't stress about seating placement.
- Look for Mater acting as a road inspector in the queue area — he makes random appearances.
- Even if you don't ride, walk through Cars Land at sunset and after dark. The neon lighting is extraordinary and costs nothing.
What to know before you ride
- Racing finale reaches approximately 40 mph with wind and minor jolting.
- Not a roller coaster, but the speed is real.
- Mild darkness in show building sections.

Mateo's Take
“The best ride in DCA and one of the best rides in any Disney park. Individual Lightning Lane or single rider — those are your two options. The standby wait is almost never worth it when those alternatives exist. Ride it at night if you can possibly manage it.”

Goofy's Sky School is a wild mouse-style roller coaster with tight corners, small drops, and a general feeling of barely controlled chaos. Rougher than Disney's bigger coasters, but a fun quick thrill for guests who want speed without the intensity of Incredicoaster.

Pixar Pal-A-Round is a 150-foot Ferris wheel at Pixar Pier offering stunning panoramic views of DCA, Disneyland, and beyond. At boarding, you choose between two gondola types: non-swinging (smooth, family-friendly) or swinging (gondolas that pendulum dramatically as the wheel rotates).
