Pirates of the Caribbean is the ride Disneyland was built to prove could exist — a fifteen-minute boat journey through some of the most detailed physical sets ever constructed for a theme park, and it still doesn't feel dated. The pacing is unhurried on purpose, this is a ride to actually look at, not just experience once and move on. High capacity means the standby line moves fast even when it looks long, so don't let the queue length scare you off. The only real caution is for very young kids — the pyrotechnic cannon-fire scene and a couple of small drops in the dark surprise some toddlers, though it's mild compared to most "intense" attractions.
