About this ride
The Columbia circles the Rivers of America on the same path as the Mark Twain, but the experience is entirely different. Multiple decks and rigging give guests plenty to explore, and the below-deck museum is a genuinely detailed exhibition of 18th-century seafaring life.

Mateo's Take
The Sailing Ship Columbia is one of the most genuinely surprising experiences in Disneyland if you have never explored it properly. Most guests stay on the upper decks and watch the Rivers of America scenery, which is lovely. But the real discovery is below deck: a meticulously designed maritime museum covering 18th-century seafaring life, including period-accurate navigation instruments, sea charts, cargo details, and interpretive panels about the Columbia's 1787 voyage around the world. It is a real museum inside a functional sailing ship replica, and almost no one knows it's there. The Columbia runs on a limited schedule, so check the Daily Entertainment guide in the Disneyland app before planning around it. If you are on the island with time to rest and the Columbia is running, get on it, go below deck immediately, and spend some time with what is genuinely one of Disneyland's most overlooked and rewarding experiences.

Pirates of the Caribbean is the original Disney dark ride masterpiece — the one that set the template for everything that followed. Walt Disney himself oversaw its creation, and it opened in 1967 as the last attraction he personally supervised. You drift through moonlit bayous and into a chaotic port town under siege by buccaneers.

Jungle Cruise is Disneyland's original opening-day comedy boat ride — a live skipper-led river tour past animatronic wildlife where the puns are the point. No height requirement, no Lightning Lane, and one of the best morning rides in Adventureland when paired with Indiana Jones.
