About this ride
The pre-show area is a full StarSpeeder hangar bay with baggage droids and security scanning. Once aboard, the randomized adventure begins — each ride selects from multiple scenarios, meaning a morning ride and an evening ride will almost certainly take you to different planets with different characters. The simulator motion is aggressive — fast-moving and turbulent.
Best time to ride
Anytime — modest wait times and high replay value make Star Tours a great filler throughout the day. Ride it twice back-to-back to experience two different scenarios.
Insider tips
- Ride twice — consecutive rides will almost always give you a different adventure.
- Look for the frozen Han Solo visible in the queue — a classic Star Wars Easter egg.
- The Rebel Spy designation assigned to a random guest is shown on a screen — watch for it.
- If prone to motion sickness, Star Tours is more intense than Smugglers Run — be cautious.
What to know before you ride
- Significant motion simulator movement — fast banking, pitching, and turbulence.
- Strong motion sickness potential.
- Not suitable for guests with heart conditions or motion sensitivity.

Mateo's Take
Star Tours is the best surprise ride in Tomorrowland. Most guests think of it as a legacy attraction and walk past it, which means the wait is often under 20 minutes when Space Mountain and Galaxy's Edge are backed up. The randomized adventure system shuffles through planets, characters, and mission scenarios to deliver high replay value. I routinely ride Star Tours twice back-to-back and get completely different experiences both times. The simulator motion is aggressive enough to bother guests with motion sensitivity, so be honest with yourself about that before boarding. But for guests who are comfortable with motion simulators, Star Tours consistently punches above its perceived weight in the current park lineup. It is the best overlooked attraction in Tomorrowland and one of the highest-value rides in the park when you factor in the short wait and the scenario variety. Ride it twice.

Before you ever step into a ride vehicle, you've already experienced a life-size Star Destroyer hangar bay, live First Order stormtroopers, a full-scale AT-AT walker, and Kylo Ren himself.

Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is a mine train coaster through the red-rock canyons of the American Southwest — and the Disneyland version is the best Big Thunder Mountain in any Disney park on earth. Its island setting, surrounded by the Rivers of America, gives it a sense of scope the Orlando and Paris versions simply don't have.

Smugglers Run puts you in the cockpit of the actual Millennium Falcon and sends you on a smuggling run through hyperspace and asteroid fields. Every seat has a different role — pilot, gunner, or engineer — and how well your crew performs actually affects the experience.
