Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift
High ThrillUpper Lot
Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift is Universal Studios Hollywood's first outdoor high-speed roller coaster. Intamin built this steel launched spinning coaster to 72 mph across 4,100 feet of track — the fastest coaster in Universal's global portfolio. It sits in the Upper Lot on the old Animal Actors site, across from The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Guests board 16-person trains modeled after franchise cars — Dom's Dodge Charger, Han's Mazda RX-7, and Brian's Skyline GT-R and Supra — with each car spinning independently through four inversions. Soft opening began July 27, 2026; grand opening date TBD and day-to-day status can vary — check wait times before you build your day around it. Height requirement is 51 inches (130 cm), the tallest in the park.

Revenge of the Mummy
highLower Lot
Revenge of the Mummy is a launched indoor steel roller coaster that accelerates from a standstill to 45 mph in seconds — entirely in the dark. Set inside a tomb hunting for the Book of the Dead, the ride mixes genuine coaster mechanics with practical special effects, fire, fog, and sudden drops that you cannot see coming. It is not a simulation. It is not a screen. It is a real roller coaster with real airtime hidden inside what looks like a cheesy movie walk-through from the outside. The attraction opened in 2004 and has aged far better than most parks' flagship thrill rides from the same era.

Mario Kart: Bowser's Challenge
lowSuper Nintendo World
Mario Kart: Bowser's Challenge is the anchor attraction of Super Nintendo World at Universal Studios Hollywood, and it uses augmented reality headsets to overlay the Mario Kart racing world onto a series of elaborately themed physical sets. Guests collect coins and hit shells to score points against Bowser's team, with results tracked and displayed at the end of the race. It's the most sophisticated use of AR in any theme park ride to date, and the physical environments — particularly the Rainbow Road sequence — are stunning.
